Our little male lilac otter Netherland Dwarf

We weren’t really planning on expanding the family so quickly, but out of the blue, I was contacted by this breeder saying that he had a lilac otter available (I’d previously told him how much I wanted an otter Nethie but he said I’d have to wait a while). So we went to look at the little guy… and just couldn’t leave without him! He’s a sweet little thing, sat quietly on my chest for the journey home.

He stayed in his box for a while, getting used to this new place..

But very soon, curiosity got the better of him!

*A what? Litter box? Hmm, never heard of that before.. There’s got to be more interesting things around here!*

Hans is currently in a 4-piece playpen setup, in the living room. Once he’s litter trained, we’ll enlarge his enclosure.

Buttons is all worked up about the new bunny. She’s running round the playpen with her tail raised and she’s trying to box at Hans. She can’t get him through the mesh, though. Yohji, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to have realised there’s a stranger in the vicinity, lol!

OK, I’m going to go check on the trio again. The pee & poop wars had yet to be declared at the time of writing this post. I hope it stays that way! Though I highly doubt it will…
