Bunnies turn their butts at people / things which displease them.
There’s a double dose of bunny butt today because the abscess on Hans’ jaw has returned. Sigh.. the saga continues.. and just when I thought we had closed the chapter on these issues 😦
Our vet is away this week and Hans will only get to see her next Monday. I’ll update again after that. I hope we can kick the abscess in the butt once and for all!
What?? How come Hans abscess return????
awwwww poor fellow…. dont tell me another round of antibiotic
hope he is fine…… know you feel
i feel miserable too if one of bunny fall sick or abnormal..aih
speaking about butt i had my share with my new bun…
too hyperactive…. im a bit too old for him to go crazy with him
Aaww, what causes this abscess?
Is it from the teeth rubbing onto his inner cheek?
Is there any home remedies that you can do to prevent abscess?
Hans is a strong bunny, I hope that this isn’t too painful for him at this point.
Oh Hans .. ouch … good vibes buddy!
Poor Hans! How can such a thing happen with the offending teeth now removed?
He’s such a brave little trooper. Give him a kiss for me.
Aww, I’m so sorry to hear that his abscess has returned. I hope he has a speedy recovery. *hugs*
Hope Hans gets rid of the nasty abcess soon, poor guy:( Love the bunny butts, dissaproval at its best, lol!
Two spotted bunny butts here for the abscess, we will light a candle for Hans and his mouth issues. Hugs and nose bumps.
Poor Hans 😦
We send you many hugs,
I hope it will help you a little ^___^
Take care ………..
poor baby – we will send him come healing vibes –
oops Some healing vibes
Oh no, how horrible. I’m so sorry.
Oh, no 😦 I hope the vet finds a permanent solution this time. Thinking of Hans…
Thanks for all the good wishes, healing vibes and disapproving bunny butts 😀
I’m not sure exactly why/how the abscess came back, when the offending tooth has been removed.. I’m guessing that maybe the earlier course of antibiotics didn’t completely eliminate the bacteria, and once Hans stopped taking the antibiotics, they started flourishing again.
Poor boy 😦
I hate abscess. Once it comes, it will comes again *sigh*..
Dun wori, Hans is a strong boy. Hope the new antibiotic session will over soon 😉
oh poor Hans, Anya too had so many problems with her teeth and mouth, so we now what it’s like. Give him a big snuggle for me!
Oh poor Hans….. Oh this makes me worry so.
Today I took Chloe to the vet. She has an infection in her jaw (tooth root) and they removed the two of her back bottom teeth that we had filed down 3 weeks ago. She will be on 3 weeks of antibotics. This is just awful for our little babies.
The anitbotics they gave me I have to wear a glove to give it to her. They said it’s dangerous for humans! Scary!
Thinking of you,
shell
Aww…poor Hans, not again…let’s hope we get rid of this problem once and for all…as for Kapas, my husband said if he had to stay another night…he’ll swim back to Marang 🙂
hoping the infection goes away by itself.
I add echinacea tincture drops (1 to 3) to my bunnies water to boost their immune system.
Calendula is also a healer, but I wouldn’t know how to use it inside the mouth, only on the skin outside, as it soothes.
Wish I could help some more.
Maybe try some (very anti-bacterial) freshly cut rosemary sprigs for him to chew – as long as they don’t go into the tooth area. Maybe they can be ground into a paste and he can lick it off your finger?
My Zai was getting these every day 🙂
Oh bummer…poor Hans 😦 Hopefully the next course of action will be decisive for killing the abscess for good. I do not have much to offer, unfortunately, but maybe the vet should use a different antibiotic to fight the bacteria. Good luck! x
Please tell Hans he’s on my heart.
Awww, poor little Hans 😦
If the abscess is not drained or resorbed completely, a chronic abscess will result too. If it is partially sterilized with antibiotics, then an antibioma may form. Sometimes Staphylococcus Aureus (bacteria which cause pyogenic infection & abscess) may resistance to certain antibiotic (especially when certain strain type are not eradicated fully via antibiotic course), change of other better & safer antibiotic might help.
Choychoy “Hans, you’re strong + Baileys’ support, will get through this again. We are strong bunneh!”
Aww, not again Hans! I hope you get rid of that nasty abcess once and for all! Bunny rubs being sent your way. Good luck! 🙂
Hi, could you please email me?

I’d like to ask you about Hans and the abscess he had. I’m going through something similar and have a bunch of questions if you don’t mind.
Thanks so much.
RIP little Hans ❤
