Our vet managed to locate suppliers of the penicillin which Hans needs. Now it’s just a matter of waiting for the drug to arrive and we can begin treatment!

Hans is so happy, he’s throwing his paws in the air.. well, not exactly in the air.. that’s not a natural stance for bunnies, so Hans is doing his own version – paws stretched faaar out on the ground. The message is still the same though; Joy, oh JOY!!

Great to hear the good news for Hans…hang on there buddy…cure is near!! Love the new header
Just a quick note: An old bunny of mine was on antibiotics for a long time, and something we found that helped his digestive tract no matter what antibiotic he was on was giving him a little yogurt every evening. He thought it was a huge treat (especially when he got some veggies or fruit on top) and the acidophilus cultures in the yogurt help to balance out those that are killed by the antibiotics. He learned to listen for the container being opened (we got a big tub of Dannon plain yogurt, and scooped 2-3 tablespoons into a little dish for him) and would storm the kitchen, running around your feet until you set the dish down for him. We would add a small scoop of frozen pineapple concentrate (the stuff you mix with water to make juice) to the top as an extra special treat a few times a week. His poops were still a little softer when he was on antibiotics, but he never got diarrhea. I hope Hans gets better soon! The poor little guy really deserves a break.
oh hans!!! i can’t tell you how much we’ve been thinking about you over here. every time i go to address fats’s wound on his scent gland i think of hans in fact and the photos you took and then i wonder as i look at fats, is this getting better…what would hans say?!
it’s like you stare at something so much you lose all perspective and it’s not easy to know what it was supposed to look like in the first place, and his other gland is totally different anyway since it’s got black pigment instead of pink…etc.
so hans i am so glad to see you all stretched out like this, and what is it with that pose anyway?!?!? my bunnies just started doing it this spring for the first time. they are 7 years old and have never ever done it before, but now it’s like the new big thing of super cute!
thank you for your concern and for your note, sending much gratitude,
‘alice
Great news! We’re still keeping everything crossable crossed for Hans, the little fighter
Miss Eve says that your pose with the paws stretched is her favourite and does it all the time – buns know they’re cute when they do it!
